David has also worked closely
with forensic scientists, pathologists, Senior
Treasury Counsel at the Central Criminal Court,
senior prosecuting and defence barristers, veteran
junior counsel, Queens Counsel in Employment cases,
senior and special case work Crown Prosecutors
at the Crown Prosecution Service, defence and
prosecution solicitors and a number of cause lawyers.
He has a wealth of experience
of attending and giving evidence at Youth Courts,
Magistrates Courts, Crown Courts including The
Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey), Coroners
Courts, County Courts, Employment Tribunals, Employment
Appeals Tribunals and the Royal Courts of Justice.
David has been entrusted to
work on some very sensitive cases and in some
very sensitive
environments where, trust, confidence and reliability
are essential qualities.
David built up an expertise
in advocacy and support during many years as a
senior investigator, middle manager and senior
manager in the Metropolitan Police. His roles
as a Police Federation Representative for Detective
Chief Inspectors and Detective Inspectors, Police
Federation Friend for all ranks and grades, Chairman
and Support Worker for the Black Police Association
also augmented his skills and expertise. His clients
included the relatives, families and victims on
murder, rape, child abuse and other major investigations.
Chaperones trained in Sexual Offences Investigation
Techniques, police officers and civilian staff
alleging racial discrimination, sexual harassment,
homophobia, bullying and other detriments in the
work place also numbered among those he supported.
David also supported police
officers and civilian staff about whom such allegations
were made. In addition he also gave consultancy
advice and assistance to managers dealing with
and seeking to resolve the issues. He was called
as an expert witness by the Commission for Racial
Equality.
His final project as a police
officer, was as a key contributor to review, revise
and rewrite the Internal Fair Practice, Policy
and Procedures for Metropolitan Police Service
and to provide a robust support structure for
all those who would manage and be involved in
the procedures.
