David MICHAEL is the founder
and Principal Consultant of Cause Consultancy
Ltd. He graduated as a Bachelor of Laws in July
1993. He was made an Honorary Master of Laws by
the University of Greenwich in July 2001 and an
Honorary Doctor of Laws by the University of Westminster
in November 2002.

He served for 30 years with
the London, Metropolitan Police Service, retiring
in December 2002 as a Detective Chief Inspector
in the Deputy Commissioner's Command at New Scotland
Yard.
David completed the Advanced
CID (Criminal Investigation Department) Course,
the National Senior Officers Development Programme
and a number of other courses and accreditations
for Senior Investigating Officers at the Metropolitan
Police Service, Detective Training School at the
Peel Centre, Hendon. He has built up his expertise
in working with people and organisations by his
collaboration with a broad range of experts and
professionals covering a range of disciplines
over the years.
David has worked successfully
with a range of consultants, practitioners and
strategists in Policing
and Criminal Justice. This helped him to hone
his further appreciation of the functioning of
other organisations and their personnel. During
his time as a Team Leader of a Police Child Protection
Team and a member of an Area Child Protection
Committee he experienced the benefits of working
in a multi-agency setting. He worked in close
co-operation with Social Services Departments,
National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty
to Children (NSPCC), Education Department, Health
Service and the Voluntary Sector. He has worked
in a number of specialist areas including the
National Crime Squad, the Serious Crime Group
of Specialist Operations Department at New Scotland
Yard. He is a former member and associate member
of the Metropolitan police Independent Advisory
Group. He is a signatory to the Official Secrets
Act.
